Napoléon wounded before Ratisbonne
Napoléon wounded before Ratisbonne

Till the battle of Ratisbonne (1809) Napoleon was granted such a luck that he could escape from all attacks.

But on April 23rd 1809 he was hit before Ratisbonne by an Austrian shot wich hurt his foot.

"This must be a Tyrolese for having reached me from so far", he said calmly. "These people are very skillful"

His personal surgeon Yvan bandaged his wound. Despite sharp pain Napoleon immediatly rejoined the front on his horse.

His return was welcome by his soldiers cheerings.
